About Steel Fences
Ornamental steel fencing has the look and feel of traditional wrought iron fencing, but without the high maintenance and need to be repainted in the future. Our Montage® steel fences are over 4x as strong as comparable aluminum fencing and lasts just as long. Q:How to choose the right Ameristar Montage® steel fence for your property?
Our Montage® steel fences come in three main styles; Classic, Majestic & Genesis and are available in both two & three rail, different heights and fully customizable with accessories. One of the first and most important questions to ask, is if you have or ever plan to built a pool in your backyard. If yes, then national and local pool codes will require that your metal fence be 4 ft tall or taller and have a maximum amount of airspace between the pickets. For pool fencing options, please visit our steel pool fence page and choose from available fencing options airspace required by pools. Next, you will want to make a decision on which of the three main styles that you like. Our Monatge® Classic style has a friendly smooth top that is perfect for visiting with neighbors and is customizable with rings or scrolls. Our Montage® Majestic style has pointed pickets that are exposed through the top of the fence, which make it more difficult to climb and in-turn, more secure. This fence style is also customizable with rings or scrolls. Like the Majestic, our Montage® Genesis style has pickets that are exposed through the top of the fence, but this fence's pickets are customizable with triad and quad-flare finials, and the body of the fence is customizable with rings or scrolls. Next, you will want to decide if you want your fence to be two or three rail. Obviously three rails are stronger than two, but in some circumstances, two rail fencing is more esthetically pleasing. The last decision to make when choosing a steel fence for you property, is the height. Our Montage® steel fences are available in 3, 4, 5, and 6 ft heights. Q:Do I need some type of permit to build a steel fence?
This will depend on your particular fence and the location it is to be built. Whether you will be needing a permit or not, can determined by Production Fenceworks representative (678)873-3628.
Q:Will I ever need to paint my Ameristar Montage® steel fence?
No. Montage® steel fences are completely galvanized in Ameristar's patented E-Coat process, followed by the metal fence industries finest powder coat finish. These steel fences will never need to be painted, whereas custom welded wrought iron one would consistently need to be.
Q:Can I attach a Montage™ steel fence to my house?
Yes, but this should only be done by professionals like Production Fenceworks expert installers. When attaching a pergola ledger board to a house, siding must be removed, flashing must be added and building paper must be reapplied before fastening. As is with your home, a pergola can be attached to a deck and should only be done by professionals.
