How much does it cost to have a wood privacy fence installed?

Having a new wooden privacy fence installed for your home is a significant investment that provides value and security for your home, family and pets. But the most common question we get asked is...

"How much does it cost to have a privacy fence installed for my home?"

The answer to that question is obviously dependent upon variables such as the fence height, lumber, design upgrades and footage purchased. Here at ProFenceworks.com, we have provided average per foot material supply and installation pricing for each privacy fence style on our site, in both 6' and 8' tall, as well as in pressure treated pine and western red cedar lumber. These prices represent an average per foot price only and may be higher or lower depending upon footage. So be sure to visit our privacy fence page, click on fence styles that you like and then see per foot installation prices.

At Production Fenceworks, Inc., we build hundreds of privacy fences each year and have provide average per foot pricing for customers in our service area here in Atlanta, Athens, Marietta, Kenessaw, Gainesville and other North Georgia areas.

Regional Privacy Fence Pricing:
Privacy fence pricing can be very dependent upon location. Fencing on the west cost can often be two to three times more expensive than similar styles built on the east coast.

Craftsmanship & Pricing
One last major factor in privacy fence pricing, is the builders experience, craftsmanship and services offered. An experienced professional company will most commonly provide these advantages; better craftsmanship, straighter lines, better material, longer lasting fencing, stronger fencing, better engineered framing and gates, better service and a slightly higher than average per foot price. At Production Fenceworks, we build the most beautiful fences, the strongest fences, the longest lasting fences and we promise to do so without being overpriced. Because of the large volume of wood privacy fences that we build, we are able to provide superior service, materials and craftsmanship, without the bloated pricing!

Basic rules for pool fence gates.

So you're needing to hang a new pool fence gate and want to make sure that it's done properly and up to code. Here are a few basic rules for installing pool fence gates, but be sure to check BOCA National codes and local pools codes as well.

1. The pool gate should be at least four feet tall.

2. The gate should have no less than 48" between the top and bottom horizontal rails, so that children cannot scale the gate.

3. The vertical pickets on the gate should not be much larger than 3" wide.

4. The gate should have a pool gate lock that latches back on its own when someone passes through.

5. For four foot pool gates, the lock should be placed on the inside of the gate.

6. The pool gate should have self closing hinges and close on its own when someone passes through.

7. Pool gates should be positioned on the shallow end of the pool.

Which is the best fence lumber, pine or cedar?

So you're looking to purchase a wood fence and are not sure whether you should go for pressure treated pine or cedar lumber? First you will want to understand the basic advantages of each lumber and then make a decision on what is best for you.

Basic Advantages of Pressure Treated Pine Fence Lumber
The major advantage of
pressure treated pine lumber over cedar, is its affordability. This is especially the case with fence posts. Pressure treated pine weathers into a golden brown color and is highly rot and decay resistant, especially underground.
